  Description: The Mergis Group Ottawa has the following opening: ONE (1) INTERMEDIATE JAVA DEVELOPER TYPE: PERM/FT Salary: TBD Work in a dynamic and energized development team to produce high-quality applications for the latest in virtualization management and security technologies. You will be working on different aspects of the system depending on your skill set. Key Responsiblities: Development of client and server applications Become knowledgeable in the software architecture of client's product line As part of the software engineering team, work in an agile team environment across disciplines with product verification and customer support, to maximize product value and develop strong customer references.

  Qualifications: Qualifications: University degree or College diploma in Computer Science. Minimum 5 years Java programming experience in a product development environment. Knowledge of OO design techniques, design patterns and experience in Windows and Linux. Development experience with unit testing. Motivated, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and strong problem solving skills. Assets: Experience with Hibernate (O/R mapping) Experience with relational databases and SQL Experience with Spring (dependency injection, IoC) Experience with JSF and Backbase web toolkits Experience with J2EE development Experience with Web Services (SOAP, Axis, WSDL) Experience developing with Eclipse and Ant Experience building multi-platform installers with InstallAnywhere. Experience with virtualization (VMware, Citrix/Xen, Microsoft Hyper-V) - ASSET! Experience with agile development Experience in a start-up environment Understanding of entire product release cycle
