Description:
Our public sector client has an immediate need for a Programmer Analyst - Cobol Mainframe consultant. The contract is one year in length. Location: Ottawa. Required Services: 1. Designing, producing, implementing, upgrading and maintaing software to meet the defined requirements; 2. Validating, through various tests, that software meets the approved specifications and ensuring that they are designed/assembled within operational/technical constraints; 3. Writing and analyzing programs using Cobol and DMS II databases on a UNISYS platform; 4. Producing program and system documentation for Cobol programs and procedures; 5. Performing unit testing on Cobol programs and batch processes; 6. Supporting System Testing efforts; 7. Conducting knowledge transfer
Qualifications:
Mandatory Criteria: (All experience must have been obtained within the last ten (10) years) 1. Minimum of five (5) full years experience in developing large mainframe Cobol solutions, procedures and systems; 2. Minimum of five (5) full years experience in writing and analyzing programs in Cobol; 3. Minimum of five (5) full years experience in producing program and system documentation for Cobol programs and procedures; 4. Enhanced Reliability clearance Rated criteria: (All experience must have been obtained within the last ten (10) years 1. Experience in developing large mainframe Cobol solutions, procedures and systems; 2. Experience in writing and analyzing programs in Cobol; 3. Experience in producing program and system documentation for Cobol programs and procedures; 4. Experience in designing and developing for DMS II databases; 5. Experience in writing and analyzing programs in Cobol on a Unisys mainframe platform Please note only selected candidates will be contacted.
