Description:
Our public sector client has an immediate need for a Systems Analyst - Project Leader (.NET) consultant. This is a one year contract. Location: Ottawa. Role and Responsibilities 1. Applying investigative skills to business, technical or organizational problems with a view to determining if and how informatics might be used to provide solutions; 2. Carrying out investigatory, feasibility and analytical studies to produce detailed specifications for all the components (software, hardware, and network) of an information system or sub-system; 3. Planning and modelling the integration of all components of the system, including their interfaces and operational environment; 4. Developing standards; 5. Conduction systems under development reviews by reviewing project documentation, conducting interview, assessing work completed, and based on findings, reporting on compliance with policy, standards and procedures; 6. Reviewing systems that have been in production status for some time and reporting issues and deficiencies; 7. Providing expertise and leadership on 3-tier web based system in one of : Presentation layer (HTML, ASP, .NET) business layer (Visual Studio 2005/2008) or data layer (Oracle PL-SQL); 8. Leading requirements analysis sessions with clients and/or technical design sessions with developers to determine information needs, screen layouts, processing rules, procedures and decision flows; 9. Providing quality assuarnace services by reviewing development deliverables to ensure SDC project standards are followed and ensuring consistency in those deliverables, by participating in system technical design sessions & reviewing specifications; 10. Participating in change management process by conducting a technical impact assessment of changes requested; 11. Collaborating with systems partners (Infrastructure, System Testing and Implementation Services) to produce life cycle deliverables; 12. Monitoring and tracking the development process and reporting status to management; 13. Participating and sometimes leading development team meetings; 14. Conducting knowledge transfer and coaching to junior developers
Qualifications:
Mandatory Qualifications: 1. Minimum of five (5) years experience in assuming lead role in developing in assuming lead role in developing a 3-tier application systems which would include Microsoft front-end and middle-tier with an Oracle database back-end; 2. Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance Desirable Qualifications: 1. Experience assuming lead role in developing a 3-tier application system which would include a Microsoft front-end and middle-tier with an Oracle database back-end; 2. Experience using Visual Studio 2005 and/or 2008; 3. Experience coding in VB.NET; 4. Experience in coding in PL/SQL; 5. Experience working with IT projects government environment ; 6. Experience in writing technical documents or specifications ; ALL experience must have been obtained within the last ten (10) years Please note only selected candidates will be contacted.
