To accelerate the return of high tech workers to sustainable employment in the Ottawa region.

Operating Principles

• Support the stimulation of economic growth to provide full employment for the tech worker talent pool in Ottawa.
• Reduce social and economic effects of unemployment on the individuals impacted.
• Identify ways in which OTI can assist in developing and sustaining the talent pool for future business needs.
• Review and evaluate progress to identify needs on an on-going basis.

Values

Immediacy - We value short term results given the immediate needs of our clientele. We are engaged to resolve a current need and are not building an ongoing institution.

Collaboration - We collaborate with others to accomplish our mission. We are open and flexible to the ideas of others and work in partnerships where appropriate.

Re-use - We search out, use, re-use and build on what is already available to the community.

Facilitation - We work to assist impacted tech workers and the tech community and act as a catalyst in helping the community and our clients to help themselves.

Focus - We focus the collective energy from government, businesses and the community around the priorities that will help us propel sustainable high tech employment opportunities.

Empathy - We identify with, and work to understand the situation our clients are in. We collaborate with partners who have a strong awareness of the high tech community and understand the needs of unemployed tech workers.
